Madonna di Campiglio is part of the new
Madonna di Campiglio - Pinzolo - Folgarida – Marilleva ski area, more than
150 km of connected ski runs and 40 km of cross country skiing trails
. The modern ski lifts and the Pinzolo-Campiglio Express cable-car covers a length of more than 4 km. It’s a
fast connection between ski areas that was inaugurated when the 2011-2012 ski season officially started.
The vast and beautiful ski area covers almost

Madonna di Campiglio is located in the
Adamello Brenta Natural Park,
a 620 ksq protected area characterized by beautiful forests, alpine lakes and the
Adamello glacier, one of the largest in Europe. The park boasts kms of well-organized trails to practice trekking, mountain biking, Nordic walking and horse riding. Furthermore, it is characterized several animal species and has been part of the UNESCO Geoparks Network since 2008.

Madonna di Campiglio is located at a short distance from
Terme di Comano, one of the eight Trentino spas. The waters at Terme di Comano are known as "a friend for your skin," because they are an excellent remedy for skin problems (psoriasis, allergies, dermatitis etc.) Furthermore, these waters are well-known for treating respiratory problems – chronic as well – such as sinusitis, rhinitis, bronchitis etc.
You’ll find many spas specialized in
treatments involving alpine herbs, hay and raw materials that belong to the territory.
TRADITION
The traditions of Madonna di Campiglio are related to
agriculture and cattle-breeding, the activities that have characterized the economy of these mountain areas for a very long time. Tourism is a more recent discovery that immediately gave a sense of uniqueness to the town. Madonna di Campiglio immediately became an
exclusive resort and
the Emperor of Austria, Franz Joseph and his wife, Princess Sissi spent their holidays there between 1889 and 1894.
Trentino opened several
museums (including the Museum of the Malga (hut) and Museum of the skis) in order to keep traditions alive. In particular, people appreciate the many churches that symbolize of devotion of the inhabitants.
